a pictureWSW has expertise in the ecology of federally protected and state sensitive species as well as determining project related influences on these species and their habitats.

Our services include:
• Identification, mapping and description of wildlife habitat
• Noxious weed identification and mapping
• Threatened and Endangered species surveys and monitoring
• General wildlife surveys/inventories
• Land management planning and enhancement

WSW personnel are knowledgeable about the threatened and endangered species issues in Colorado and elsewhere in the Rocky Mountain West and Sonoran Desert. WSW carries out projects and studies on threatened and endangered species, prepares Habitat Assessments, Biological Evaluations for federal land management agencies and conducts research into the influences of habitat changes on wildlife populations. WSW is permitted to conduct surveys for the southwestern willow flycatcher, (pictured), least Bell’s vireo and yellow billed cuckoo (nest pictured).

WSW also conducts surveys for nesting raptors and other sensitive species. Additionally, WSW personnel have contributed to Biological Assessments of energy industry impacts on the Canada Lynx and productivity monitoring reports pertaining to federal Biological Opinions and Habitat Conservation Plans for the southwestern willow flycatcher.

WSW personnel have served as the Chair for the Southwestern Bald Eagle Management Committee. WSW personnel are certified, active members of the Colorado Chapter of the Wildlife Society holding positions as board members and treasurer. We are recognized as professionals in the wildlife field.
